Shanghai Chemical Industry
Park(SCIP) is a special development area mainly for
petrochemical and fine chemical production. It is one
of the largest national industry investment projects
during the Tenth Five-year Plan period. The development
of the park has been officially included in the national
industrial development strategy. The total planning
development area of the Park is 29.4km2. During phase
1, the capital investment of RMB 150 billion will be
made. At present, the world famous multinational corporations,
such as BP,BASF,Bayer,Huntsman, Air Products and Chemicals
Inc., SUEZ,Vopak, AIR LIQUIDE, Praxiar and many world
famous utility corporations have settled in the park.
The total investment has exceeded USD 8 billion in the
park. The chemical park will be constructed into one
of the largest, most concentrated and most advanced
chemical production bases in Asia and possess first-class
world level.
